Gallery One 36: Renowned Gallery in Westfield, Indiana
The new Gallery One 36, in Westfield, Indiana, hit the ground running and shows no sign of letting up. Art and culture lovers from nearby Noblesville, Fishers and Carmel, and even from state capital Indianapolis, only a few miles away, visit the gallery to take in an exhibition, join the Poetry & Music Night, or simply see what’s up.
Gallery One 36 is a homey place with arches dividing the rooms, cream-colored walls and an abundance of light. The building itself is a historic, 90-year-old home with two stories.
Some of the finest Indianapolis artists and artists throughout Indiana are featured in Gallery One 36. Visitors will find art in every medium, from glass to oils. At any given time, the works of artists such as these will be shown: Katherine Kemp, Quincy Owens, Cara Moczygemba, Teri Barnett, Sam Sartorius, Randall Scott Harden and many more.
Fine handmade jewelry is also exhibited at Gallery One 36, and the gallery offers workshop classes in the use of a new material called PMC, a substance that allows the jewelry maker to model silver like clay.
The gallery frequently puts on special Westfield events. A popular one is “Poetry & Music Night,” in which all attendees are enjoined to bring an instrument, some wine, some poetry and a blanket to sit on.
