Downtown Westfield, Indiana is getting enervated these days. Main Street is the site of the new Westfield Market, soon to be a real feather in the community’s cap. Fresh, locally-grown produce and other items, such as dairy and honey products, homemade jams and jellies, cheese, fish, meat, poultry, cut flowers, plants and even pet edibles are expected to make an appearance. The Westfield Market happens every Friday, rain or shine, between 4pm and 7 pm.
Westfield’s Downtown Neighborhood Association is behind most of the new activity in downtown Westfield. This group builds a membership that oversees relative ordinances, implements beautification programs, produces the NUMA Festival, a Westfield arts festival that takes place every September, and much more.
One of the main attractions in downtown Westfield is the “Grand Junction” of the Monon Trail and the Midland Trail. An organization called the Grand Junction Task Group was recently formed to make sure the community capitalizes fully on this interesting commodity, which could conceivably connect the suburb of Westfield, Indiana to its giant sun, Indianapolis.
Westfield, Indiana is on the move, and the heart of the city is beating nicely.
